Moonrise Synchronicity

Synchronicities have shown up here on These Days in the past. I wrote about them here and, again, here. Once you become aware of them, you realize that they happen quite often. Today I’m sharing the most recent one we experienced.

Although the moon was full on Thursday night last week, Wednesday was our better night for viewing, as Thursday night was overcast.

Motor Man and I were, once again, running an errand in Newport News, and I took this picture of the moonrise as we were crossing the James River Bridge. That’s Newport News Shipbuilding in the distance.

Marshall and I communicate by text quite a bit, so I sent a text to him that read:

“Big ol moon 2nite. Full 2moro nite!”

The instant I pushed “send” on my phone, I heard the tone that I have assigned to Marshall’s texts. His read:

“can u see the moon?’

When I look back at my texts, it shows that his text was received at 6:12 p.m., and my text to him was sent at 6:12 p.m.

And, that, folks, is our latest synchronicity.

  3. Beautiful photos. The colors are so pretty.

You are Marshall are so well connected. It reminds of my Mom and me.

  4. Seems like our feathered friends were also enjoying the moonrise.

  5. Lovely post Dianna! Makes me smile. That is some cool synchronicity. Two great captures, the second one my favorite. Love the birds in the moonlight sky.

  6. My daughter and I have that connection….love it when it shows itself in such an obvious way! Great moon shots – love the one with the birds. We were (of course) treated to that same moon…but it’s so cool to see it over the water like that!

  7. “Coincidences are just God’s way of remaining anyonymous.”

I cannot count the times I have thought of my oldest only to have the phone ring and I know it’s him before I even see the #.

Your connection is so strong- that’s love 🙂

  10. Wow! First of all…great photos! Things like this prove we are connected with our children in more ways than one. Adam will love these pictures. He can show his out of state friends and relatives where he works! Thanks!

  11. I don’t know if I even mentioned this to you or not, but when I saw your text come in, I just assumed that it was your response to mine… then I saw the time, and then you texted me again about the synchro!! They really are everywhere – keep an eye out !

  12. Wednesday was the better night for viewing, I wish I had gotten a picture then. I waited for the full moon, and the sky was full of clouds, too.

  13. Loved reading about this special mother-son connection. It happens sometimes with my kids too! Just the other night oldest daughter and I texted each other at the same time and used the same words. Of course, I teased her that she is becoming just like her mother. 😉

  15. Sweet! The connection between the hearts of Mother and child is one of the most awe inspiring things. It’s so cool about the moon texts between you two. 🙂

  16. That’s awesome – I bet Marshall is always thinking about cool things for you to feature on your blog. He must have been raised very well 😉 Beautiful shots!

  17. Love your picture and your post. You are obviously very ‘in tune’ with each other. :))
