Sunset Sunday

Tuesday afternoon, we had a few storms in the area with some much needed rain. These pictures were taken shortly after the sunset.

Many times, the sky is more colorful just before a sunrise, or just after a sunset. That was certainly the case on Tuesday, when the storm clouds had blocked our view of the sun as it was setting.

Because it was so dark outside, I was playing around with the camera settings: with flash, without flash. etc.  And although this wasn’t really what I was aiming for, I thought it was pretty interesting. Groom Swan is directly behind Bride, although he’s hard to see.

Sweet Bride Swan in the “spotlight”.

  1. Lovely photos. whatever you did with the settings really made your shots look gorgeous. I wouldn’t have noticed Groom Swan if you hadn’t said he was there!!

  2. the swan & sunset are so lovely. (:

  3. Beautiful as always!

  4. Lovely! I always like the sky when the sun is just rising or setting, with all the pinks and blues.

  5. All are beautiful but the last one steals the show!

  6. Nice photos….very pretty – and Groom knows when to let his Bride do all the “shining” !!

  7. very pretty! congrats on some rain!

  8. I sure would have missed Groom if you hadn’t told me where to look! Sometimes these computer screens have to be tilted to see everything! Either that, or I am getting old! Anyway, those scenes are just beautiful. We got up at 4am today to go to the beach to get the sunrise. We can’t see the sunrise from the house – we are definitely too urban!

  9. Love, love, LOVE!!! Those bands of striking color are great! AND a spotlight on bride swan seems just right!

  10. Ooooh! The last picture is breathtaking.

  11. I’d have to say the last one here definitely steals it ! So many different colors & shades at play ! Keep experimenting with those settings!

  12. Love the glowing bride. The light at sunset was amazing that night.

  13. I like these sunset shots! And I always enjoy seeing the swans!

  14. Nice shots, Dianna. That last one is really beautiful with the Bride looking so bright white!
