Five Fun Felines For Friday

Oh, I hear the collective groan from my readers. Yes, there isn’t much going on  “These Days”. Things will definitely busy up once spring with her warm weather arrives.  But, today, I’m, once again, resorting to my photo archives for blog material.  At least our kitties entertain us year-round.

1.) I look forward to relaxing in the evening in the recliner and working the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.  Occasionally, Sundae will decide to use that time to relax in my lap. This makes reading the paper and working the puzzle more challenging than usual.

2.)  Gypsy has a new toy mouse. But, right in the middle of playtime, a stretch just happened.

3.) Marshall sent me this photo recently of his kitty, Chessie.  She’d just emerged from under the house, and was wearing a souvenir (a cobweb) behind her left ear.  Marshall and I both think that, in this picture, she resembles Grumpy Cat.  She clearly looks annoyed.

4.) I took this picture of Marshall’s other kitty, Snuggles, doing his very best “loaf of bread” impression.

5  and a bonus) Several months ago, we saw this feral kitty behind our shop. We put out food and attempted to tame her.  Meanwhile, a nearby business owner and his wife took her in.  She apparently has some American Curl lineage, and is also a polydactyl (has an extra toe on each front foot). Recently, she was spayed and received a clean bill of health.  Her name is “Mama Kitty”.

And the bonus: her kitten, also taken in by the same couple.  She is semi-tame, and they’ve named her “Emmy”. What an adorable little face.

Have a good weekend. We’re expecting a little snow today, lows in the single digits tonight, and I don’t even want to think about wind chills.

  1. Sweet photos!!! I remember you mentioning the kitty with curly ears and am SO happy to learn she now has a home – along with her “baby” ! That’s great……. Marshall’s cats look happy and healthy……Snuggles does look more like a loaf of bread in that shot than the classic “meatloaf” position cats often do!

  2. All sweet! Marshall’s grumpy kitty so “spot on” a description. Glad to hear the American Curl adapted, and after you taking care such good care of her initially, she and her baby have other parents–cannot have too much love. Emmy is beautiful. Stay warm this weekend.

  3. Ha ha! Snuggles certainly does look like a loaf of bread. 🙂

  4. Kitties always make us smile – sweet memories of my own ‘Fluffy’ when I was growing up.

  5. Hey, tons of people view cat videos on the internet (so they say), so why not a cute montage of the kitties in your life? All adorable! And yes, Marshall’s kitty definitely looks like Grumpy Cat!

  6. Oh I love all of those photos!!! Thanks for the adorable post and yes—Marshall’s kitty is the epitome of Grumpy Cat!

  7. some of my best times as a child were spent down at the barn playing with the kitties — your assortment reminds me of them – the big Orange Tom (loaf of bread, ha!), the calicos, the tabbies and the black/white with blue eyes. Fun post 🙂 MJ

  8. Great post with a great title!
It’s good Sundae’s getting some lapcat tendencies..
the Gyps is about 10 feet long stretched out at full length ..
Chessie looks like she had a bad time under there, but she still goes back ..
I’ve never really seen Snuggs from that angle- loaf all the way ..
& I’m glad the Curl and kitten are in good hands.. American Curl & polydactyl.. That’s a competition cat !

  9. Really enjoyed your post today. Photos show that each kitty
has its own personality. Have loved cats all my life and that’s
    82 years.

Wonderful kitty pictures! So happy the others found a home. Hope you and JR have a good Valentine’s Day,

  11. Great pictures! Somehow the picture of the feral cat and her kitten particularly resonated with me. I’m glad that they found a home. .

  12. Hope you’re staying warm over there! We got snow, too. I think that groundhog was teasing us. Sundae is such a pretty “patchwork” kitty. Gypsy reminds me of my granddaughter who is so flexible. Chessie does resemble Grumpy Cat! LOL I hope she got things sorted out. I’d be upset with a cobweb on my ear and someone determined to take a picture of me! And probably laughing. I like the “loaf of bread” pose. I’ve never heard of American Curl, but that kitty certainly has it going on. Cute youngster, too. Glad they have a good home now.

  13. Best news ever that Mama Kitty and Emmy are adopted… Yay! I am with Chessie when I walk into cobwebs… grumpy! Snuggles has the loaf position down, no doubt about it!

  14. Love the pics! Thanks for sharing!

  15. I love all the snuggly adorable kitty-cats. They’re all so sweet. 🙂

  16. Wonderful kitty photos…and what fun to watch yours and all those antics. 😊
