“Ships” That Pass

Motor Man and I just never know what type of vessel we might see passing by our house on any given day.

Occasionally we’ll see a tug.

Or a tug pushing a barge.

Or maybe a pleasure boat. A nice one. Towing a dinghy.

Notice anything peculiar about this next photo?

There’s no one piloting that boat. It was in the midst of a violent northeaster, and the boat had floated across a larger river and up into the smaller one that flows by our house.  Unbelievably this boat didn’t crash into anything, and the owner later recovered it – undamaged.

I must admit that I was more than a little concerned when I glanced out and saw this one day.

And seeing this just made us smile.

  1. Nice pics. Were the three boats from the Army or Navy? They look like they are Army green in color.

  2. I think they were Army, Grace. Never found out why they were heading toward town. It was a strange sight!

  3. It’s a heavily-travelled area through there! .. And it gets pretty wild during the Poker Run !!

  4. Liked this! Looks like your “box of chocolates” is out on the water past your house! 🙂 Love the last one with the dog. 🙂

  8. What a great view. I would have fun watching everything go by!
