Sundae, Sundae

Yesterday was the two week anniversary of our adopting our kitty, Sundae.

She’s had a rough couple of weeks.  Moving to a new home, being declawed  (don’t hate: I already hate myself enough for all of us), some complications from the antibiotics.

Motor Man and I haven’t been her favorite people lately, since we’ve been having to give her pain pills and liquid antibiotics.  And we’ve taken her to the vet several times. None of these put you in good standing with a cat.

For the past couple of days, she’s been pretty much holed up under our bed, coming out only for the necessities.

And, occasionally, she’d sit on the windowsill.

So a few days ago,  I ordered a windowsill shelf seat for her. Our previous kitty, Beezy, had one that she loved. When we lost Beezy, I tossed everything kitty-related in the trash, thinking there’d never be another cat in our life.  Wrong.

Here’s the first photo of Sundae on her new seat.  And right on cue, there’s Groom Swan out there – waiting for bread.  And Sundae definitely spotted him.

 She watched.

 And watched.

And watched.

We think Sundae likes her new seat.  Hopefully, she likes it well enough to forgive us for everything that’s happened in the last couple of weeks.

  1. Sure hope Sundae forgives y’all soon. She’ll really appreciate all those rubs and kitty toys to play with when she does.
    She sure is a cutie!

  2. Like I said last night, it does look like a comfy spot. Maybe she’s a fan of Groom Swan, too !!

  3. I think Sundae will forgive you soon if she hasn’t already. What an amazing view she has! Lucky kitty!

  4. Oh that’s wonderful! A home with a view for her! I know how traumatic declawing can be. We had a house cat once and I had her declawed. Unfortunately she was a bit weighty after being spayed and she kept busting open her declaw wounds. It was terrible and I felt terrible…

  5. Such sweet pictures of Sundae viewing the world. Poor little kitty. Will all of the love you have to give her, she’ll come around sooner than later.

  6. That is one beautiful kittie. Lucky Sundae!

  7. She is such a beautiful cat!!

  8. What a gorgeous cat…I didn’t know they made window shelves like that but what a great idea for a kitty! 🙂

  9. She’ll forgive you when’s she’s feeling better. I’d never seen a window shelf; makes it a more comfortable for her to watch outdoor activities. My kitty would have made good use of one.

  10. Sundae looks my sister’s cat, MiMi. She is beautiful. I like how you adopted an older cat (she looks older anyway) versus a tiny kitten. Don’t get me wrong, I love little kittens but I feel bad for the older ones because most people first gobble up the itty bittys.
Let me just say again, I love the water view from your house!
