Cotton Barn Charm

Recently, Motor Man and I were riding around out in the country, enjoying a beautiful day. And I spied…..out by the cotton modules….

Two old barns, worthy of Barn Charm Tuesday.

Since we know the landowner, we Motor Man decided there was no harm in driving down the lane to take a few close-up pictures.

Two barns for the price of one for Tricia’s Barn Charm this week.

  1. They certainly look a bit rickety and old. But they make a for a lovely picture. 🙂

  2. I always feel like there just have to be a lot of great stories to be told by those old, abandoned barns and homes – don’t you? Ghosts of the past…..still standing and holding their secrets close. Nice pictures.

  3. Those are great! Perfect specimens for barn charm!

  4. There’s a lot of rural history here. Love the splashes of color contrasting against the old wood. They make these ole barns look like they are still working.

  5. Old barns never die….. and I never tire of looking at them!

  6. What a great find. They are real collectors’ items. They definitely show their age, but appear to be holding up under all the wear and tear of the winds and rains. Love the post. genie

  7. Old barns such as these really do have tons of charm. I’ve never seen cotton modules before so don’t know what they are.

  8. These are fantastic! Love them!

  9. poor old rickety things! hang in there, old barns!

  10. Look at them, they’re gorgeous! I sure would love to get inside to see what I could see, although, it might be a bit dangerous as they don’t look structurally stable anymore… but that’s ok, they’re beauties just the same!

Thank you very much for linking up to Barn Charm – Great find! =)

  11. I love the old, rustic barns. They remind me of days gone by when I was growing up on the farm. I hope they last for a long time to come!

  12. Good work Motor Man!
“Cotton modules”? Interesting. I had no idea but makes sense tho! I wonder, do they then lift those up onto semi’s for transport?

  13. Really nice shots here. And so sweet of your hubby to drive you close to the barn. Happy Tuesday!

  14. Great old barns! They look like they’ve seen a lot of use but still have that appeal to make us look again.

  15. It’s an extra bonus when they’re a bit ‘off the beaten path’ .. these look to be bordered by farm roads and fields .. nice … !

  16. I love these pictures. And love old barns.

  17. I must not have been thinking last night when I posted & typed Barn Charm Monday… It should read Tuesday… sorry for the confusion! =)

  18. Never seen ‘cotton modules’ before. They look interesting, but not nearly as interesting as those barns.

  19. Nice photos. Those barns almost look like old houses. I wonder what kind of fun, old, treasures are inside?!

  20. Wonderful barns, it sure is nice that you could get some closer shots.

  21. Dianna those look like our barns here in Mid MissouREE-no tobacco though. The old wood barns have charm and character. I hope they don’t all fall down and fade away. Great pictures for Barn Charm!

  22. in desperate need of a little lovin!!

  23. I have never seen Cotton Modules before .. but then I’ve never seen a cotton field either. Tanya Tucker comes to mind, “When I was a little bitty baby my momma would rock me in the cradle .. in those ole cotton fields back home …”

You know I love old barns .. MJ

  24. Man, oh, man…I would love to hear the stories those two could tell. Imagine the life they have seen pass right in front of their ‘eye.’

  25. Love these, Dianna, so much character! I saw a cotton field today that had yet to be harvested, big white puffs. I wish I’d found a place to pull off and get a picture to share.

  26. Yes, I love the barns, but I want to know more about the cotton modules. When I picked, I had a bag I dragged behind. Now it lives under plastic tarps????

If only they could tell us all the history within there walls,

  28. Great barns, though a bit on the sad side. Glad you captured them.
