Snow Day

Tuesday evening, we had a rare (for our area) snowfall of about six inches. When I was a child, we’d have that much snow quite often, but that isn’t the case these days.

Our old cedar tree has weathered another snow storm.

Motor Man and I spent most of the day at home, but we ventured out for awhile around mid-day. Believe it or not, there are four lanes under all that snow.

Back home, it’s rare that we see the Pagan River with this much ice. This was taken from our balcony.

Motor Man and I played in the snow.  Well, we stood in the snow for the 15-seconds it took for the timer on the camera to snap this picture.

And how did Sundae spend the snow day? Trying to decide whether to lie under or on top of her blanket.

  2. Our snow day was on Tuesday. Back to class this morning…gotta go! Be safe out there.

  3. We are completely snowed in. Driveway is impassable therefore no newspapers. Glad I have internet. 9* this morning. Brrr! Beautiful photos.

  4. But isn’t it BEAUTIFUL!! Sundae, I’m under the blanket – best spot. No school again today! Love the pic of you and Motor Man – worth the cold!

  5. Sundae you are a smart girl. I have been spending the days under my blankie! That is certainly a different picture than we usually see of the marina/boat slips.. 😯

  6. Even the Pagan freezes in this weather….it’s 5 degrees here….not often it’s that cold and I hope it won’t be again for another 30 yrs.

  7. Oooooh Sundae had the right idea about snuggling up in that kind of weather! Great snow shots, especially the last one of you and Motorman “playing”/shivering. 🙂 No more snow here but it was 2.1F and falling at 6:30 this morning.

  8. Great pictures! Your place looks like mine now — all covered in snow (of course, mine has looked like that for over 2 months now!). Glad you had a little fun in the snow!

  9. love your cedar tree! ‘swoosh!’

  10. Wow! That is a lot of snow in one fall, even for here! It is snowing right now and Mommy has to drive to a meeting in a town about a hour away! She hopes the road looks a little better than yours.

  11. Lovely snow but oh so cold. I’m so glad you & MM went and enjoyed the snow and took in it’s beauty. You & MM look like a couple of happy kids. Sweet!
That cedar tree has more character than any cedar I’ve ever seen. It’s enchanting.
Oh that Sundae girl, she does know how to enjoy the cold snowy day in top form.
    🙂

  12. Sundae’s got the right idea, but after a whole day inside I had to get out! Now to catch up on the post from yesterday…. great photos !!

The picture of your cedar tree is wonderful! Chuck and I are just staying in enjoying the snow! Sundae has the right ideal!

  14. The cedar has withstood many a storm, it would appear. Just like we are shaped by the storms that come and go in our lives. Great picture of you and MotorMan. Sundae looks snuggly, I think she has the right idea.
