Blog Hop Around The World

My blogging friend, Patti, who writes A New Day Dawns, recently asked me if I’d like to participate in Blog Hop Around The World. I’m required to answer four questions, then (with their prior consent) nominate three blogging friends to answer the same questions next Monday. Here are the questions and my responses:

How does my creating process work?

As far as creating my blog posts, I usually just sit down at the computer the night before, look through my recent photos, and select a subject.  Some nights, it’s more difficult than others. In nearly four years of blogging, I’ve only published one post without a photo. That explains why I rarely go anywhere without the camera.

How does my work differ from others of its genre?

Some blogs are themed: they’re about a specific subject, such as cooking or gardening or writing. Mine could almost be a photography blog, just because so many posts are based on a photo or photos. But I usually just really write about what’s going on in my life right now.

What am I working on?

In addition to blogging every week day, I’m also a rubber stamper and make (almost) all my greeting cards. (I do admit to “cheating” once in awhile and sending a store-bought one. Shhhh…)

Why do I create what I do?

Blogging allows me to share my photos and my thoughts. I don’t have a huge following, but the comments left by my readers are so complimentary, they encourage me to continue sharing.

Now, as to the three blogging friends that I was supposed to choose to participate in the blog hop: among my friends that I thought might be interested in doing this, only two were able to play along at this time. They are:

Pam, who along with her sweet ginger cat, Sammy, write One Spoiled Cat. Pam and I have met in person several times, and I consider her a special friend.

Cindy at Mama’s Empty Nest.  Cindy has been one of my faithful readers and commenters for quite some time.

If any of my other blogging friends would like to take part in this, just let me know, and I’ll add your name to the list.

And, in keeping with at least one photo in each post, here’s a sunrise shot from June 11.

  3. Congratulations on the blog hop. You work really hard on your blog and do a great job keeping it fresh and interesting. I agree with you that it could be thought of almost as a photography blog. It’s always a special part of my day. Have a great week! 🙂

  4. Good Morning Dianna! So happy your creative process is flowing. Enjoy your blog so much, always makes me smile.

  5. You buy cards! Oh, I’m going to tell!

  6. I think I know why you blog. You’ve always said you were a shy child. I have noticed you come out of your shyness when you blog. It’s a safer place to be for you. Writing from your home…but reaching out. It has helped you make friends and explore. Along with this and your wonderful hubby you are seeing so much more than ever before…and you get to share it with all of us!

  7. Dianna, I love getting to know you even better and this blog hop actually does that. It was fun to read your answers, now I better get busy and answer those questions for next Monday.

  8. I always enjoy reading your blog and seeing where you’ve been, even if it’s just out to the yard. Thanks for taking part in the blog hop, I look forward to seeing your friend’s posts.

  9. Like I’ve said before… this is the first place I come when I go online! …. & now I’m trying to remember which of your posts had no photo ……………

The sunrise shot from the 11th is stunning…thank you!

  12. Your cards are beautiful. I always consider them to be a gift in themselves. I so enjoy your blog – pics – and a slice of your life. Thanks!

  13. I love your posts and photos! I feel like I’ve learned a lot about the horses you write about, and some of the history of that area, which is always a draw for me! As I say often, thank you for sharing! ~ Sheila
