Christmas Barn Charm

You may recall our Steam Train Weekend trip to West Virginia in October. The one where we were expecting fall foliage, but instead ran head-on into a snow storm?

My Barn Charm photo this week was taken during that trip.

Obviously this is  a working barn; there’s the farmer’s pick-up parked around back.

A red barn in a snow storm for Christmas week’s Barn Charm.

  1. This is a Christmas holiday barn with muted red and snow all around. Lovely setting. btw I’m working on the RAA and will have it up by tomorrow. Thank you, again.

  2. Lovely! Appears to be a well kept barn too. Frosty red barn looks like a Christmas card…………

  3. It is stunning Dianna! Just what you expect to see in a barn on a cold winter day. Red with white trim windows and doors, a silo, flurry of snow, loft doors. Charming barn!

  4. … The cattle are lowing .. the baby awakes .. but little Lord Jesus .. no crying he makes …

    beautiful!!

  5. Wow, what a smart barn. Even though you took this picture in October it still looks nice and Christmassy.

  6. This is perfection!

  7. A barn is just a barn, until you take a photo…Then it turns into a picture of perfection…………..

  8. love this with the snow falling on it….so pretty!

  9. Nice looking barn…it really stands out in the snow! Great shot.

  10. This looks like a perfect Christmas card!! The snow is just perfect with the red barn. Speaking of snow…we are “snowed in” this morning with up to ten foot drifts!

  11. Perfect picture for Barn Charm for Christmas week! Enjoy seeing pictures of snow more than the real thing!

  12. That’s a nice looking barn. I am partial to the stone & wood barns where I grew up in PA that have hex signs painted on them. There are some beautiful ones made into homes that I would love to see on the inside!

  13. Cool shot! I was thinking of Christmas this week too. 🙂

  14. There’s nothing prettier than a red barn! Except maybe a red barn in a winter scene, and that is one well built barn, too! Nice!!

  15. it’s a beautiful place, and perfect in the snow!

  16. This is perfect for Christmas week! Nice shot.

  17. Very pretty. (though especially so for December, not October…!)

  18. That’s a good looking barn too, snow or no snow! By the looks of it the loft is enormous!
Great capture from your window on the train or your car or?!

  19. I love and long for that type of snowstorm! I hope it comes by Christmas!

  20. Certainly a December pic in the middle of October! But everyone should click on the picture to enlarge it; one of the best things about this one is that “lattice” style work right under the eaves all the way around.. And that’s just a part of the careful design in this one ! The snow effect on the blog goes with it nicely, too 😉

  21. Perfect! Needs to be on a Christmas card!

  22. Red barns in the snow are beautiful any time, but especially at Christmas!

  23. A lovely image…. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas

  24. I have enjoyed every one of your barn posts…I wish we had “pretty” barns down her in south Texas. But for the time being I am living vicariously through the barn charm posts.

  25. Wow, PERFECT! I LOVE “barn red” and this is just a perfect specimen. Glad you saved this for Christmas week (though now I’m crossing both sets of fingers hoping for a white Christmas morning!)

  26. Very Christmasy and it looks cold. Very pretty!

  27. This is a beautiful barn…love the now covered scene.

  30. What a great looking barn. I love red barns.

  31. A huge smile! When I saw your comment on my post I couldn’t wait to see your barn. I have that one in bright sunshine showing more of the silo. 🙂
It is between Seneca Rocks and East Bank WV.
    Too cool!

  32. OHHH Very beautiful in all that snow! WoW! =0 Great find

I’m very late this week visiting Barn Charmers, so sorry!

Thanks so much for joining =)

  33. Now you all have me curious….on our next trip over across into WVA, we are going to have to search out this one. It is a real keeper. Genie in Lexington. I am so glad Carletta wrote where it is. I just asked my husband who loves to go hiking there about the town, and he said he knew where East Falls was. If you all know the road number where the barn is, I would love to know.Great capture. genie
