Antiquing, Lunch And A Visit With Santa

As mentioned in Friday’s post, my friends and I had a girls’ day out on Saturday. And there was a bonus: we had a chauffeur – AND photographer – (Motor Man).

Our first stop was at a consignment shop owned and operated by a schoolmate whom we hadn’t seen in years. Unfortunately, he was out of the shop on Saturday, conducting an estate sale. It’s a beautiful shop, and all four of us made purchases.

My purchase was this set of three adorable tin angels.  Once home, I placed them on our mantle, with battery operated votives behind each of them.

The next stop was beautiful historic Hanover Tavern. You may recall that Motor Man and I have been there on two other occasions.  Saturday’s visit was the first for our friends. We had a delicious brunch: pumpkin spice French toast for some of us…yum.

It was perfect timing for our trip to the Tavern: Santa was there! And even though we weren’t dressed as festively as this little girl at a nearby table…

…we DID have our picture taken with Santa. I was nominated to sit beside him (when everyone else ran to stand behind him). So as I sat down, I whispered to him: “The one who sits by Santa gets the most presents, right?”. And, of course, he agreed.

It was a fun day spent with friends and a special way to kick off the Christmas season!

  9. Oh What Fun It is to Ride….In a Chauffeur-driven car with friends! Always fun to spend time with friends. Love the blog header! We are in the Spirit of Christmas!

  10. Great blog for a great Christmas adventure!! It was fun and like I told you-It may have been raining all day but it was sunny where friends are! The angels were as pretty as I knew they would be (jealous) but I love my peacock pillow too! Through the Garden Gate antique center (another of your discoveries) was wonderful! We are going to have to do it all over again! One of the biggest laughs was the shop we thought was closed-we parked in the parking lot, exchanged gifts, I ran out to peak in window, turned door knob and door swung open! AND, we knew people in common. When leaving Santa, he said “Have you girls been good?” I said, “we do not have time for that Santa..” Just a wonderful Merry Christmas adventure that will be sure to be repeated next year!

  11. A great day all around. What can be better than shopping and eating with friends and ending it with Santa? Love the tin angels.
