The Dog Ate My Homework

Well, not exactly. But I don’t have a REAL blog post today.  Yesterday was a super busy day, and then, Motor Man and I were out quite late last night, taking care of engine business.

When we got home, this one was begging for bread. (Evidently Groom Swan had already had dinner at a neighbor’s.)

And these were begging for corn:

And this was begging for water:

Keep in mind that we didn’t get home til almost 9.

And, then, this one needed attention, too:

So, teacher, that’s why I don’t have my homework assignment today.

  1. I guess you get a pass for this one time…since the work you submitted was your usual high quality! Love the photo of Sundae waiting – was it patiently? She seems to be frowning a little…maybe it was just worry over how late you were! Your night sounds like mine when I got back home after being gone almost 2 weeks – sometimes it is overwhelming to even know where to start!

  2. I too would give you a pass this time – after all, you were running around all day and hardly had time to breathe much less blog! Besides, I happen to think this “Non-Real” blog of yours has some lovely pictures – that makes it a WINNER in my book! Hopefully today will be less hectic – I know Sundae would like that too….. 😀

  3. So much to tend to upon one’s return. Another very nice post with photos, story and humor.

  4. You know you have to ‘feed the stock’ when you get home!!! LOL!!
Everyone thinks they’ve been neglected. A woman’s work is NEVER done!

  5. Ha! Love this! And since we are “birthday twins” …to me it seems…in many ways we are living parallel lives:) When I get home I have always have too many domesticated animals begging for something. This summer, my plants outside have been begging too…but I haven’t been as attentive to them since they are unable to bark or meow!

  6. Well Dianna, I am glad the dog ate your homework because I got a kick out of this post and enjoyed the pictures! I love the shot of Sundae standing there with her stand up happy tail in half mast position… 🙂

  7. I love the last picture of Sundae…she looks so happy to see you, and you can tell she’s looking forward to that rub she’s gonna get when that door opens!

  8. For one that was so busy and in such high demand upon your return home, you created a delightful post! May today be less hectic for you…and Sundae. 🙂

  9. …this might explain why I don’t have plants or animals of my own. Hmmmm! I love the shot of the cat with the reflection in the glass.

  10. I know the guilt involved when we stay out late! Everyone is aggravated that we “neglected” them so thoughtlessly! Our nineteen-year-old cat Merlin is downright distraught.

  11. Such a cute post. I do believe I’ll give you an A for effort and forgive the fact that you don’t have your homework. It seems to me you had lots of “home work” to do tending to all the needy. 😉

  12. Well done, nonetheless. I’ll be happy to give you an A- for this paper.

  13. too cute. 🙂 enjoyed this ‘fill-in’ just fine!~

  14. You got home at 9? Oh my…so I guess you didn’t get to bed till 10? I think that now that I got up at 4:30am to see the sunrise with you…you should stay up with me till 2am and see what that’s like!

  15. Love this! I was watering in the dark last night, too. Sundae gets priority, kitties need lovin!’

  16. The dog may have eaten your homework, but I’ll bet your cat ate the chicken ! A+

  17. Oh I think I will let you off with it. It sounds as if you have had a busy time of it.
